Last updated October 19, 2026
Canadian Blind Manufacturing Inc. (“CBM”, “we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through cdnblind.com and cblind.ca, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to answer you, serve our dealers and run our business.
What we collect, and why
- Find a Dealer enquiries. Your name, email, phone number, location and message, so we can reply and put you in touch with a dealer near you.
- Trade newsletter sign-up. Your email, first name, company and type of business, and a record of your consent, so we can send the trade news you asked for.
- Dealer account applications. Business details, contact names, phone numbers, email and business addresses, tax numbers and the answers to our dealer questions, so we can review the application, set up the account and contact you about it. We don't take card or bank account numbers through the website.
- Dealer Portal accounts. For our dealers and their staff: names, email addresses, usernames, and the quotes, orders and questions entered in the portal, so we can process orders, keep account records and answer questions. Passwords are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form that no one at CBM can read.
- Website visits. We count page views and a few actions (for example, when an enquiry form is sent) to understand how the site is used. This is done without cookies and without identifying you.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep dealers and CBM staff signed in to their accounts. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Email from us
We send the trade newsletter only to people who signed up or who have a business relationship with CBM, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) allows. For recipients in the United States, our emails also follow the CAN-SPAM Act: each one identifies CBM, includes our mailing address and has a working unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. Dealer Portal emails (order confirmations, invitations, password resets) are part of the service and are sent to the account's email address.
Who else handles your information
We don't sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:
- our dealers, when you ask us to put you in touch with one;
- service providers that run the site for us under contract: website hosting and analytics (Vercel), our database (Neon), email (Microsoft 365) and our newsletter service (Mailchimp);
- when we use an AI tool to help our staff draft a reply to a dealer's question, that service processes the question; a person at CBM reviews every reply before it is sent;
- anyone we are required to share it with by law.
Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local laws.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, business and tax records for orders). Newsletter consent records are kept as proof of consent while you are subscribed and for a period afterwards.
How we protect it
The site uses encrypted connections (https). Access to dealer and customer information is limited to CBM staff who need it, each with their own sign-in. Sign-in links in emails work once and expire.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in any newsletter.
- Ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or to correct it.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
